En Route to Domus Exsulis

The Caretaker Speaks:
As you climb up the steep steps towards Domus Exsulis, you may chance upon one or two of the exiles who have found a home here in Lumen Procellae. It is rumored that they are concerned about the disappearance of the human woman who had named herself the Guardian of StormLight.
For decades, the open routes to the isle of Lumen Procellae were closed, and no one from other planes of existence could enter. Nor could we leave. She elected me her heir, but I have resisted this appointment, till now.
They call me the Caretaker these days, but I have been a great number of things. Shop assistant, Librarian, scholar. The last, inspired me to reach back into time for the names the Romans used to call this isle and the different places here. Perhaps I overstep myself, but I prefer these names to the ones the Guardian chose when she opened the routes so humans from our world could visit this isle.
Others whisper of older names that have not been spoken in aeons, lost, long lost.
I know not of these names, but I will endeavour to rediscover them.

Domus Exsulis: The House of Exiles
Welcome to Domus Exsulis, an online hypertextual storytelling web that has been continuously woven and re-woven since 1997 by Nin Harris. The storytelling process has been made as organic as possible so that the reader may have a feel of being within a shifting textual amphitheatre. You may enjoy the stories out of sequence or, consult the Preface for New Exiles and the Guide to Lumen Procellae to read the stories within a more conventional sequence.
There are currently two writing projects set on Domus Exsulis to look forward to: the novel, Watermaidens as well as the projected digital chapbook, The Caretaker's Tale & The Dragon Who Thought She Was a Tree: Two Novellas . The chapbook will be released in various ebook formats in 2011. Stay tuned for more details if you're keen on unearthing the fictive mysteries surrounding this world!
For years, Domus Exsulis has been running on a free-to-read model, but I am also now accepting tips, like the virtual storyteller and word-busker that I am.
