Domus Exsulis: Kitchen

A dozen cooks hired from the Mycologos Protectorate toil to prepare dinner for guests, stragglers, hobos and any hungry exiles who drop in. The kitchen is a hub of activity with all manner of Lumen Procellae‘s inhabitants bustling about, despatching orders on sheets of paper to pixies who hover mid-air. An exasperated were-cat cook fishes an imp out of her batter, whilst a confused human boy tries his best to stuff a turkey whilst squinting at an old recipe book.

Domus Exsulis: The House of Exiles
Welcome to Domus Exsulis, an online hypertextual storytelling web that has been continuously woven and re-woven since 1997 by Nin Harris. The storytelling process has been made as organic as possible so that the reader may have a feel of being within a shifting textual amphitheatre. You may enjoy the stories out of sequence or, consult the Preface for New Exiles and the Guide to Lumen Procellae to read the stories within a more conventional sequence.
There are currently two writing projects set on Domus Exsulis to look forward to: the novel, Watermaidens as well as the projected digital chapbook, The Caretaker's Tale & The Dragon Who Thought She Was a Tree: Two Novellas . The chapbook will be released in various ebook formats in 2011. Stay tuned for more details if you're keen on unearthing the fictive mysteries surrounding this world!
For years, Domus Exsulis has been running on a free-to-read model, but I am also now accepting tips, like the virtual storyteller and word-busker that I am.
